Kinetic Alfvén Waves in Space Plasma Environment with κ-electrons

A resonant instability of kinetic Alfvén waves (KAWs) driven by ion beam is discussed through a theoretical model encompassing Maxwellian background ions and non-Maxwellian κ-electrons. The velocity alone as source able to excite the KAWs up significant growth. parameter κ impedes growth restricting wave unstable region. effects other plasma parameters such propagation angle, temperature species, beta on excitation are also examined. present can generate with frequencies in range ≈6.6–51.2 mHz, which relevant explaining observed ultralow frequency at auroral ionospheric altitudes. Theoretical predictions will be applicable planetary environments where beams κ-electrons present.
